“When my son, Jagger was almost five years old, I realized the need for formal speech therapy. Jennifer Mehlman was recommended to me and I am so thankful that my family met her. During my first telephone conversation with Jennifer, she listened to my concerns and invited my son and I into her office for a consultation. Jagger was having difficulty articulating the “k”, “g”, “th”, and “l” sounds. At this point, he could not even pronounce his own name. He would say ”Jadder” rather than “Jagger”.
Jennifer instantly built rapport with Jagger as I instantly felt relief that Jagger was being treated by someone who was extremely competent and dedicated to helping my son succeed. Jennifer made speech therapy so inviting by using whistles, bubble, and games. There were even rewards after each session. Jennifer knew exactly how to engage my son in therapy. She was able to strike a perfect balance between finding the fun in therapy and keeping my son focused to complete the treatments necessary for improving his speech.
When treatment was complete, Jagger was pronouncing all of his sounds correctly and was able to properly say his own name!! Jennifer Mehlman is a true asset to the community. She is extremely bright and competent. I would recommend Jennifer Mehlman without hesitation to anyone who has a child in need of speech therapy. My family is so grateful for the time Jennifer spend helping our son.”
